Can teaching negotiation techniques increase educational attainment?
In Zambia, the high dropout rate among female students at the end of primary school is a problem, caused by a lack of resources to pay for school and a paternalistic society that prioritizes children. An implemented program aimed to teach young women negotiation and cooperation skills to increase their participation in household decisions, particularly regarding continuing their studies. The results indicate that, thanks to the program, there was an increase in the number of participants enrolling in subsequent years, as well as an increased chance of studying in the morning, considered a higher quality period in the country.
Does the performance of elementary school students improve when teachers have a college degree?
A student's academic and professional success is linked to the quality of the teachers who taught them, with higher education being one of the determining factors in this success. Silva Filho (2019) measures the effect of higher education among public elementary school teachers on student proficiency by comparing the variation in student results in the 2013 National Literacy Assessment with the 2015 Prova Brasil in the subjects of Portuguese Language and Mathematics. It was found that only mathematics teachers with specific training in mathematics positively affected their students' proficiency.

The literature on the effectiveness of resources applied to educational institutions includes some important names who defend different positions regarding policies for increasing resources for education. In this impasse, Diaz (2012) contributes to the debate on the quality of municipal public spending on education, specifically on primary education in Brazil, through an analysis of whether or not there is a relationship between municipal spending on education and the results of their networks, evaluated according to the IDEB (Basic Education Development Index) obtained in 2005.
