This week, the School of Management, Economics and Business (EGEN) at IDP opens registration for the Empreenda BSB Tournament, a business game promoted by the institution. The main objective of the event is for high school and first-year college students to experience the daily routine of an entrepreneur. Learn more about the event:
What are business games?
It is a competition focused on business management and entrepreneurship, commonly used worldwide in large companies and universities. Recently, these games have been increasingly adopted in Brazil in business dynamics and university courses. Although they may follow very different scripts, the format usually involves business simulation software.
The Empreenda BSB Tournament is a business games competition promoted by EGEN/IDP and is currently the only competition of its kind open in the Federal District (DF). The event will be held 100% online and its main objective is to involve young people interested in becoming business owners and entrepreneurs in a stimulating competition that adds knowledge and experience to this audience.
In such a difficult and complex time as today, this is a way to bring these students closer together in a relaxed, dynamic, and safe manner.
And how will the Empreenda BSB Tournament work?
Anyone in their second year of high school through their second semester of college can apply. Each person or group of up to 4 members will represent a company. The companies will all be in the same sector and will compete against each other daily; their success or failure will depend on the decisions made by the company members.
Rounds of management decisions will be held in various areas (marketing, finance, human resources, etc.), and all teams will present their resolutions at the same time as their competitors. This is where the competition begins, based on each company's performance in a competitive market that simulates a real-world context.
The competition will take place between May 25th and June 18th, divided into three main stages. Initially, we will provide instructional materials so that no one starts without the necessary knowledge to compete. Then, we will begin the competition until we have our finalists who will compete in the final phase. Thus, the tournament stages are: Tournament Preparation; Qualifying Phase; Final Competition.
And what are the prizes?
The winning teams will receive the appropriate prizes and recognition on the podium for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, which include certificates, scholarships, and even a financial reward.
1rd place – R$4.000,00 + EGEN/IDP Scholarship (50% discount)
