Finally, the most talked-about Fashion event took place, MET GALA 2021. It was held this Monday (13) at the renowned Metropolitan Museum of Art, with the presence of super exclusive guests, and this year's theme was “ America: A Lexicon of Fashion Hosted, of course, by the amazing Anna Wintour, the evening's presenter and editor-in-chief of American Vogue magazine.
Wearing Oscar de la Renta, Wintour was one of the first to arrive, followed by actor and co-host of the evening Timothée Chalamet and poet Amanda Gorman, also chosen as one of the co-hosts, along with singer Billie Eilish and tennis player Naomi Osaka.
American independence guided the dress code for this edition. The exhibition will be divided into two parts: "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" this Monday, and "In America: An Anthology of Fashion", which will premiere on May 5, 2022, the official month of the event.
PERFORMANCE ENTRANCE
The American singer Lil Nas X made a grand entrance, showcasing three looks in one on the red carpet. The first look was a golden blanket that, when removed, revealed a second layer: armor in the same shade. The third, a form-fitting jumpsuit draped with sequins, was all from the Italian fashion house Versace.
BET ON RED
This year, the big trend of the night was looks in shades of red. Model Karlie Kloss arrived in a Carolina Herrera dress, followed by singer Finneas and singer Jennifer Hudson.
Brazilian Representation
Also present for the first time was Brazilian singer Anitta, wearing Peter Dundas along with the manager and shoemaker. Alexandre Birman, and interestingly, the singer's look had to be approved by Anna.
