The Macroeconomic Center releases the monthly PNAD data for January 2025. The monthly unemployment rate rose to 7,1% in the first month of the year. With seasonal adjustment, the indicator reached 6,6%. Regarding the employed population, there was growth in the number of formal jobs, especially among workers with signed contracts. For February, an increase in the rate to 6,8% is projected in the three-month moving average, considering zero statistical carryover for the employed population and the labor force.
