The Macroeconomic Center releases the monthly PNAD data for March 2025. The monthly unemployment rate fell to 6,7%, equivalent to 6,4% with seasonal adjustment. This is the first reduction of the year, after relative stability in the last quarter of 2024 and increases observed in January and February. The main contribution to job creation came from the informal sector, in contrast to the trend recorded in recent months. The number of jobs with formal contracts remained stable, with seasonal adjustment, compared to the previous month.
