Dawn: The First Trace
Dawn is the beginning of daybreak: not full light, but the moment when the horizon begins to separate from the sky. The first year is that moment. The student learns that space has a name, that lines have intention, that seeing and looking are not the same thing. The awakening of the architectural gaze, the reading of the territory, and the discovery of space.

Projects
Brasília Crossing
An exclusive immersive week for first-year Architecture students. The Brasília Crossing explores the city over five themed days, from the original Cerrado biome and the invention of the capital, passing through the Superblocks and the way of life that Brasília invented, to peripheral cities like Ceilândia and Sol Nascente and sustainability initiatives in the Central Plateau.
Integrated Design Workshop I and II
The heart of architectural education begins here. The Integrated Design Studio accompanies the student from the first to the last semester, articulating theory, technique, representation, and critical vision in progressively more complex projects. In the first year, called Alvorada (Dawn), the focus is on spatial perception, hand and digital drawing, model building, and critical reading of the city.
Selfie Lab IDP
Before designing for the world, you need to know who you are as an architect. The Selfie Lab is a personal development program where freshmen, with guidance from professors, build their initial portfolio, personal brand, and digital presence. The first step in transforming your academic journey into a professional identity.
IDP GO
Even in their first year, Architecture students have the opportunity to participate in IDP GO, an immersion program that takes groups to visit renowned offices, landmark buildings, historical sites, and innovation centers in Brazilian and international cities. In previous editions, students explored the heritage of Belo Horizonte and Ouro Preto, visiting architecture firms and participating in workshops on urban planning and preservation.
PROIC: Scientific Initiation
Research in architecture begins during undergraduate studies. The PROIC program selects students to develop individual research projects under the supervision of specialized professors, with a monthly stipend of R$600 for up to 7 months. This is an opportunity to delve into topics such as climate change, heritage, urban planning, and construction technology with academic rigor.
Idea Lab IDP
A laboratory of creativity and innovation for Architecture students. The Idea Lab is the space where new ways of thinking about design take shape, with experiments, prototypes, connections between architecture, technology and artificial intelligence, and creative freedom to explore beyond the conventional. An environment that complements the technical rigor of the Atelier from the first semesters.

Pilotis: The Free Span
Niemeyer didn't hide the structure, he celebrated it. And he could only make it float because he knew exactly what it needed to withstand. The second year is this discovery: formal freedom only exists after tectonic mastery. The technical, tectonic, and constructive understanding of architecture.

Integrated Design Workshop III and IV
Niemeyer was only able to make it float because he knew exactly what the structure needed to withstand. In the second year, called Pilotis, the Atelier advances to technical and tectonic mastery: single-family housing design, large spans, BIM modeling, structural thinking, materials, and construction technologies. Formal freedom is born from technical mastery, and it is here that this discovery takes place.
Sprint IDP
Architecture applied to real-world challenges faced by large organizations. In the IDP Sprint, multidisciplinary teams, including Architecture and Urban Planning students, develop strategic and creative solutions to real problems brought by partner companies. In 10 weeks of intensive learning, you present your proposal to executives and leave with practical experience, market insight, and a concrete project in your portfolio.
Startup Way
In one weekend, from zero to a viable idea. Startup Way is an immersive experience where multidisciplinary teams develop an innovative business model from scratch. For Architecture students, it's an immersion in creative entrepreneurship and an opportunity to think about the built environment as a product, service, and value proposition.
Demoday
Show the market what you've built. Demoday is the student project presentation event, where teams showcase their ideas and solutions to a panel of professors, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals. It's a pitch and proposal defense experience that prepares architects to present their projects with clarity and conviction.
IDP Winter School
An academic immersion in cities and contexts outside of Brasília. IDP GO takes Architecture students to visit landmark buildings, renowned firms, historical centers, and innovation hubs, with hands-on, dynamic activities and case studies. The Winter School complements this experience with an intensive learning format on specific topics in contemporary architecture, with guest professors and professionals.

Superquadra: The Human Scale
The Superquadra project proved that living well is not a private privilege, but a collective endeavor. In the third year, students realize that designing also means designing what lies beyond the walls, and that a building only truly exists when it belongs to its place. The relationships between building, landscape, infrastructure, and collective life are explored.

Exchange IDP
Study Architecture at a leading international university. The IDP Exchange program offers partnerships with institutions in Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the USA, Japan, Chile, and other countries, with places available every semester. In addition to a broadened design and cultural repertoire, you will experience completely different construction systems, urban climates, and architectural traditions.

Do you have a tech startup idea? The IDP Incubator is the ideal environment to structure, validate, and scale your business. With mentorship from experienced experts, strategic networking, and access to resources from the innovation ecosystem, students progress through the ideation, acceleration, and succession phases according to the project's maturity.
IDP Mission
IDP selects groups of Architecture students to represent the institution at major industry events, such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, CASACOR, and other leading national and international events. This provides an immersive experience of networking, learning, and direct contact with the trends shaping contemporary architecture and urbanism.
Sprint IDP
In their third year, Architecture students can participate in a new edition of the IDP Sprint, this time with greater design and technical maturity to contribute solutions that integrate design, functionality, and real impact for partner companies.

Eixão and Eixinho: the same city, two speeds, two scales. The fourth year is about learning to navigate between them, from listed heritage sites to neighborhoods that grew on their own, until finally adopting one's own intellectual stance. The expanded city, urban conflicts, and critical thinking.

Integrated Design Workshop VII and VIII
The main axis and the smaller axis: the same city, two speeds, two scales. In the fourth year, the Atelier reaches its greatest complexity, large-scale urban design, intervention in modern heritage, urban and regional planning, critical theory, and intellectual essay. It is the moment when the student builds their own position on contemporary urban issues and begins to express their ideas with conviction.
International AI + Cities Congress
IDP positions itself as a pioneer in the discussion of Artificial Intelligence applied to architecture and urban planning. The International AI + Cities Congress brings together national and international speakers to discuss the transformations that AI is causing in the way we design, build and inhabit cities.

Pilot Plan: The Vision
Lúcio Costa handed over an envelope with an idea inside. The fifth year is when the student submits their own. An original work, a synthesis of everything they've learned, and they leave prepared to build what doesn't yet exist. PROIC
cientific initiation Program
PROIC is IDP's scientific initiation program that offers exclusive support to students interested in transforming their ideas into research, together with renowned professors. And, to top it off, the student receives a monthly stipend to develop their project.
The PROIC program annually selects students to develop individual research projects, granting a monthly financial aid of R$ 600,00 for up to 7 months. Students work under the supervision of specialized professors, participate in workshops, and receive training in research techniques and academic writing. The program's call for applications is published annually, usually in March and April, and offers a unique opportunity for students committed to academic advancement.
Participating in PROIC means enhancing skills such as critical thinking, project management, and academic communication. You will have access to tools that will help you excel in master's programs, competitions, and your professional career. This is an opportunity to build a solid foundation as a researcher.
PAPIN
Program to Support Scientific Initiation and Research
Transform your ideas into articles and present them at major national or international academic events! PAPIN is the program that connects you to the academic world, offering support and financial assistance to develop your potential as a researcher.
Participants are mentored by professors and have access to resources that enable them to present their work at highly relevant academic events. The program is structured to encourage high-quality scientific production and promote the integration of students into the national and international academic community.
Students are selected through biannual calls for applications, launched in April and August, and widely publicized throughout the academic community.
PAGRUP
Program to Support the Development of Research Groups
Would you like to participate in innovative research and also receive support to present your work at national and international events?
PAGRUP is a program that encourages the creation and development of Research Groups, offering funding and strategic support so that professors and students can reach new levels in academic production.
PAGRUP offers support to Research Groups led by IDP professors, funding academic projects and encouraging participation in scientific events in Brazil and abroad. Calls for proposals are open twice a year, in April and August, guaranteeing regular opportunities for new projects to be submitted. With an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment, PAGRUP is the ideal space to explore new ideas and transform knowledge into impact.
