The first two years provide a common conceptual foundation for both courses, focusing on economic and management fundamentals, programming languages, and big data. This common base gives students two very attractive options.
First of all, students who are unsure about which career path to follow don't need to worry; they can wait until the beginning of their third year to choose between a degree in Business Administration or Economics.
Furthermore, IDP allows students to opt for dual degrees. That is, with just over a year of study, the student can graduate with two undergraduate diplomas.

The IDP Business Economics Journey was built on a clear premise: economic rigor and market vision are not opposites, they are inseparable. Microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics coexist, from the first semester, with Data Science, business, and applied financial markets. While traditional courses still produce economists without market awareness, here each semester connects model and decision-making. Start your own business even before finishing your first semester. Startup Way is an immersive weekend experience where multidisciplinary teams develop a startup from scratch, going through ideation, market validation, MVP building, and a final pitch. For Business Administration and Economics students, it's their first practical contact with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the tools that guide business decisions in the real world.
IDP Hackathon
Technology and management meet at the IDP Hackathon. In 24 hours of total immersion, teams with complementary profiles develop innovative solutions for real market challenges. For students of Business Administration and Economics, it's an experience in leadership, decision-making under pressure, and multidisciplinary co-creation—essential skills for 21st-century managers.
Demoday
Show the market what you've built. Demoday is the event where first-year students present their projects, showcasing their ideas and solutions to a panel of professors, entrepreneurs, and executives. Sprint IDP
Solve real-world problems for large companies with a high-level team. In the IDP Sprint, teams of Business Administration and Economics students develop innovative solutions for strategic challenges from partners such as Ambev, Smart Fit, XP Inc., Banco do Brasil, Meta, and others. In 10 weeks and 120 hours of intense work, you present your proposal to executives and leave with practical experience, contacts, and a real project in your portfolio.
Asset Challenge
Manage an investment portfolio in a dynamic and realistic environment. The Asset Challenge is a 4-week competition where teams of up to 3 students develop a structured investment thesis, monitor the performance of a portfolio, and receive mentorship from experienced financial market professors.
Saturday Finance Challenge
One Saturday. One real challenge. One panel of experts. The Saturday Finance Challenge brings together teams from different colleges in the Federal District to tackle real-world problems in the financial market, developing strategic analyses and presenting innovative solutions in a single day. PROIC
cientific initiation Program
PROIC is IDP's scientific initiation program that offers exclusive support to students interested in transforming their ideas into research, together with renowned professors. And, to top it off, the student receives a monthly stipend to develop their project.
The PROIC program annually selects students to develop individual research projects, granting a monthly financial aid of R$ 600,00 for up to 7 months. Students work under the supervision of specialized professors, participate in workshops, and receive training in research techniques and academic writing. The program's call for applications is published annually, usually in March and April, and offers a unique opportunity for students committed to academic advancement.
Participating in PROIC means enhancing skills such as critical thinking, project management, and academic communication. You will have access to tools that will help you excel in master's programs, competitions, and your professional career. This is an opportunity to build a solid foundation as a researcher.
PAPIN
Program to Support Scientific Initiation and Research
Transform your ideas into articles and present them at major national or international academic events! PAPIN is the program that connects you to the academic world, offering support and financial assistance to develop your potential as a researcher.
Participants are mentored by professors and have access to resources that enable them to present their work at highly relevant academic events. The program is structured to encourage high-quality scientific production and promote the integration of students into the national and international academic community.
Students are selected through biannual calls for applications, launched in April and August, and widely publicized throughout the academic community.

Program to Support the Development of Research Groups
Would you like to participate in innovative research and also receive support to present your work at national and international events?
PAGRUP is a program that encourages the creation and development of Research Groups, offering funding and strategic support so that professors and students can reach new levels in academic production.
PAGRUP offers support to Research Groups led by IDP professors, funding academic projects and encouraging participation in scientific events in Brazil and abroad. Calls for proposals are open twice a year, in April and August, guaranteeing regular opportunities for new projects to be submitted. With an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment, PAGRUP is the ideal space to explore new ideas and transform knowledge into impact.
