The selection process for the Exchange IDP is simple and straightforward.
Registration is done through a specific form, requiring the submission of documents such as a resume, academic transcript, and letter of motivation. Students may choose up to 3 institutions at the time of registration, which must be indicated in order of preference. After document evaluation, students will undergo an interview with an organizing committee composed of IDP professors, in which the student's profile and the educational institution will be evaluated, considering the students' academic and professional goals, as well as the order of preference indicated at the time of registration.
Absolutely not! The exchange program is an enriching experience for all students who participate. Most of the courses taken during the exchange period are credited as elective courses on your IDP academic transcript.
The IDP team supports you throughout the entire process of obtaining information related to the visa application process and recommends reliable platforms for contacting local property owners for direct rental and/or contacting educational institutions to request vacancies in university-owned accommodations.

Generally, the required proficiency level is intermediate, equivalent to B1. Not all institutions require exchange students to provide proof of proficiency, but it is important for exchange students to prepare themselves, either through language classes offered by IDP or individually, so that they can communicate effectively when they are in the destination country.
Students selected for the international exchange program will be entitled to a tuition waiver for the semester equivalent to their study period abroad, provided they maintain satisfactory academic performance during the exchange.
We recommend that students arrive in their destination country at least one week before the start of classes so they can acclimatize and get to know the city. It is essential to be present on the first day of class and also on the day scheduled by the university for student orientation, which may occur the week before or on the day classes begin. It is important to remember that, outside of Brazil, course hours are calculated based on activities both inside and outside the classroom, including lectures, reading, and assessments.
