why study International Relations today?

The International Relations course is situated at the intersection of interdisciplinary dialogue and the training of professionals capable of understanding and intervening in complex phenomena that transcend borders. Drawing on Law, Economics, History, Political Philosophy, and Social Sciences, the international relations specialist articulates different languages ​​and methods to analyze a constantly transforming world, marked by challenges such as development, inequalities, conflicts, and climate change.

Here, we train professionals prepared to interpret and act amidst the complexities of the contemporary world. From the first to the last semester, you'll advance through the complexity of the theory while already getting hands-on experience!

1st to 3th semester

In the first semesters, you build a solid foundation in International Relations, exploring concepts, areas of practice, and the interdisciplinary dimension of the career, connecting political science, law, economics, history, and social sciences. It's the time to take the first steps on your path as an internationalist through practical experiences, differentiated methodologies, and global perspectives that strengthen critical and strategic thinking.
  • First semester: Introduction to International Relations, History of International Relations I, Political Philosophy, Theory of the State and the Constitution, Introduction to the Study of Law (differentiated methodology).
  • 2nd semester: Organization of the State, History of International Relations II, Fundamentals of Economics, Social Formation of Brazil (differentiated methodology), Globalization, Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection.
  • 3rd semester: Microeconomics, Theory of International Relations I (Classical Theories), Foundations of Social Sciences Applied to International Relations, Fundamental Rights and Guarantees, Human Rights, Research Methodology.

4st to 6th semester

Between the 4th and 6th semesters, you will deepen your knowledge of the main contemporary themes in politics, law, and economics in their international dimension. You will develop practical and strategic skills to work in different areas of internationalism, participating in seminars, case studies, and courses that connect theory, critical analysis, and real-world experiences in the global field.
  • 4th semester: Macroeconomics, Theory of International Relations II (Contemporary Theories), Public International Law, Interdisciplinary Seminar I (Applied Statistics), Brazilian Foreign Policy I, Environmental Law.
  • 5th semester: International Political Economy, Private International Law, Administrative Law I, Interdisciplinary Seminar II (Security, International Defense and Armed Conflicts), Brazilian Foreign Policy II, International Criminal Law, Social Entrepreneurship: High Impact Projects (differentiated methodology).
  • 6th semester: International Trade, International Institutions and Organizations, Administrative Law II, Special Topics in International Relations (Foreign Policy Analysis), Elective Course I.

7st to 8th semester

In the final semesters, you personalize your path as an internationalist through specialization tracks, exploring specific areas and developing skills aligned with your professional goals. It's the time to apply all the knowledge accumulated in projects, research, and practical experiences that connect you to the global market.
  • 7th semester: International Cooperation, Regional Integration Processes I (Americas and Europe), Elective Courses II, III and IV, Final Project I.
  • 8th semester: Foreign Trade (Export and Import Operations Management), Regional Integration Processes II (Africa and Asia), Elective Courses V, VI and VII, Final Project II.
  • Developing advanced skills in regional integration and international cooperation.
  • Practical application of knowledge in projects and final course papers, preparing for global professional performance.
  • Personalized training according to individual interests and goals.
