The CASP Research Group discusses how to reconcile the role of the Constitution, the Separation of Powers, and Legal Argumentation. It unfolds along two axes: a) Institutional Dialogues, Legislative Process, and Constitution; b) Defense of the Climate and the Environment. In its meetings, it delineates the institutional roles of the Brazilian Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. It works with the notion of dialogue and restraint between powers. It uses the tools of legal argumentation to evaluate the problems presented and the possible paths to contribute to solutions and reflections, incorporating the climate perspective.
The meetings are online and include the participation of external guests, with a suggested basic text for each meeting. The meetings are monthly. We conduct guided studies based on relevant cases of power relations, using the readings. The studies are open to non-members. We collaborate with other groups such as GPRAJ, Percursos, GERN, UNB, Environmental Law and Sustainable Development-Ceub.
