A Master's Degree Focused on the Job Market

The market increasingly demands qualified professionals with analytical and practical skills.

One of the main characteristics of MCD is its teaching methodology, which, in addition to a solid theoretical foundation, pays special attention to the analysis of case studies and the resolution of practical problems related to the creation, management, monitoring, and evaluation of digital communication strategies. 

Furthermore, in-person meetings occur monthly and are concentrated on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, in order to allow the participation of professionals who seek to reconcile their participation in the master's program with their professional practice.

Faculty

The main distinguishing feature of MCD is, without a doubt, the faculty qualifications, composed of professors who, in addition to standing out for their high and diverse academic qualifications (100% of professors hold a PhD.They are also characterized by a consolidated professional trajectory in the most diverse areas of Communication. 

This is a fundamental aspect of the program, since it allows students to present, analyze, and discuss ways to apply the theoretical tools presented in each subject to the reality of Communication in public and private institutions, which emphasizes the professional training character of the course. 

Erica Anitta

PhD in Political Science (UFMG/2017). Specialist in Communication and Politics (UNIBH/2008). Researcher at the Public Opinion Group. Completed a doctoral internship at the University of Coimbra (Portugal).

LUCIANA ANDRADE

PhD in Social Communication from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Researcher at the SIMM Network – Research Network in Semiotics, Interactions and Media Materialities – and the MediaAção group at UFMG.

ÉBIDA ROSA DOS SANTOS

PhD in Communication from the University of Brasília (UnB). Master's degree in Journalism from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (POSJOR UFSC). Member of the Science, Technology and Politics research group (CTPOL) and the Center for Media and Politics Studies (NEMP).

EDWALDO COSTA

Doctor of Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, with Post-Doctoral studies at the University of São Paulo and Toronto Metropolitan University.

LILIANE DE LUCENA ITO

Visiting researcher at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), in Covilhã, Portugal. Postdoctoral researcher in Communication and Consumer Practices at the School of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM/SP).

Neuroscience, Digital Marketing, and Consumer Behavior

Area I offers an interdisciplinary analysis of the interactions between brain and cognitive processes, digital marketing strategies, and behavior. Combining recent advances in neuroscience with the emerging dynamics of digital marketing, this research line aims to elucidate the brain mechanisms that influence people's behavioral decisions in the physical and digital environment.

Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Digital Communication

Area II analyzes how artificial intelligence and data science can be used to optimize digital communication. This research line focuses on the application of these tools to increase precision, personalization, and efficiency in the production and dissemination of content, with an emphasis on marketing, journalism, and digital platforms.

POLITICAL MARKETING AND ELECTORAL CAMPAIGNS

Area III focuses on the analysis and development of marketing strategies applied to political contexts and electoral campaigns. Research in this area ranges from the creation and management of digital campaigns to the study of voter behavior, as well as the impact of political communication on social media. The area also examines the use of data and trend analysis for the formulation of effective electoral strategies.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR

Area IV focuses on the application of marketing and communication concepts in the public sector, studying the use of digital communication strategies and platforms in public organizations, and evaluating how they influence public perception of government actions and public policies. Furthermore, it analyzes how governmental and public institutions adopt digital communication technologies to improve transparency, efficiency, and citizen participation.

INTERNATIONAL TITLE
The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) is the largest university in Portugal and one of the largest in Europe. Located in the heart of the city, it offers its entire community one of the best and most diverse range of educational programs and promises to be a unique and enriching experience.
In 2023, IDP signed an international agreement with the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa), granting our Master's and Doctoral students exclusive access to the Master's in Management and Public Policy at ISCSP-ULisboa. This opens up a unique and exclusive opportunity for students in IDP's Stricto Sensu Programs, who can, during the regular completion period of their program, also obtain an international qualification: a Master's degree in Management and Public Policy from the University of Lisbon – a title valid throughout the European community.

IDP establishes partnerships with foreign universities and institutes to give students the opportunity to experience periods of international study and research.
