Since 2019, IDP and the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa) have been working together to promote joint initiatives for teaching, research and outreach in the area of ​​Public Management. In July 2023, this partnership reached a new level with the signing of a Cooperation Agreement for the joint implementation of a Specialized Training Program in Public Management and Policies.

Through this Program

Professors and students from IDP's Stricto Sensu Programs will have access to an Exclusive Class of the Master's in Management and Public Policies at ISCSP-ULisboa. This opens up a unique and exclusive opportunity for IDP Master's and Doctoral students, who will be able to obtain an international qualification during the regular completion period of their program: a Master in Management and Public Policies from the University of Lisbon, a title valid throughout the European community.

How the program works

Registration

Professors and students enrolled in IDP's Stricto Sensu (Master's and Doctoral) programs may apply until May 31, 2026, for the Exclusive Class of the Master's Program in Management and Public Policies at ISCSP-ULisboa.

Credit Transfer for Courses

Courses taken at ULisboa may be credited as elective courses in IDP's Master's programs (criteria vary and can be checked with the Coordinator of the respective program).

Class Format

The course will be taught in an intensive format, with classes concentrated in two modules of 3 weeks (90 hours), which will take place in the months of January and July 2027.The first module will be taught at the University of Lisbon headquarters in Portugal. The second module will be taught at IDP in Brasília. All subjects of the Master's Program in Management and Public Policies at ISCSP-ULisboa will be taught during these two periods.

Program duration

The total duration of the ISCSP Program is 2 (two) years. IDP Master's students who are accepted into the Lisbon Program will have their maximum completion time at IDP extended by up to 1 year, at no additional cost.

Dissertation

Successful completion of the Program requires passing all subjects, as well as defending a dissertation-type work under the guidance of a professor from ULisboa and a professor from IDP. The same work may be accepted into the student's original program at IDP, provided the regulations are met.

Jobs

18 places will be offered as part of the Program. ULisboa will be responsible for the final selection of students.

Certificate/diploma of completion of undergraduate/master's degree and postgraduate courses:

A letter of motivation, explaining the reasons for choosing the course and indicating a proposed topic to be developed in the final master's thesis, with justification;

Two letters of recommendation, explaining the context of the academic and/or professional relationship with the recommender and the suitability of the candidate's profile for the intended course;
