From an interdisciplinary perspective, the Master's Program in Political Science and International Relations at IDP (MCPRI) is structured to meet the demands of a wide range of professionals from the public and private sectors, the third sector, and international organizations who work directly or indirectly in the Brazilian political system and international relations.
A teaching program based on applied methodology.
The Professional Master's Program in Political Science and International Relations at IDP adopts an approach centered on applied methodology, promoting the articulation between theory and practice. This methodology allows students to analyze real and complex situations, developing applied and innovative solutions. The focus is on training professionals capable of understanding and acting strategically in political-institutional and international contexts.

Applied Methodology
One of the main characteristics of MCPRI is its teaching methodology, which, in addition to a solid theoretical foundation, pays special attention to the analysis of case studies and practical applications of knowledge to the Brazilian political system and international relations.
In this way, the aim is to expose students, from the first semester onwards, to real-world examples of management techniques and innovative public policies implemented around the world.
Concentrated classes on Fridays and Saturdays
The courses are offered in a concentrated format at the following times:
Friday
- 14:00 pm - 17:40 pm
- 18:30 pm - 22:00 pm
Saturday
- 9:00 pm - 12:40 pm
- From 14 to 17
Following the regular schedule, the student is expected to complete the required coursework in the first year of the Master's program, with an average of 24 two-day class sessions.

A modern and integrated curriculum
In many schools, Master's programs are highly theoretical and specialized.
At IDP, it's not just about what students know, but what they do with that knowledge. We structure our curriculum to offer in-depth technical knowledge in the most relevant areas from the perspective of what students will do after completing their Master's degree.
In the first semester, we offer students a solid foundation in Political Science and International Relations, necessary for an excellent professional in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, as well as international organizations.
In subsequent semesters, students have complete freedom to choose the subjects that interest them most, both from an academic and professional standpoint.

1st Semester
In the first semester, students take core required courses focused on understanding political institutions, the functioning of the decision-making process, and the methodological foundations of research. This set of courses provides the analytical basis that guides the entire course in the program.
2st Semester
In the second semester, students begin choosing elective courses, organized into areas of interest within the program, deepening their training according to their academic and professional interests. Simultaneously, they advance in the development of their research project.
3st Semester
In the third semester, the student continues to take elective courses and consolidates the development of the dissertation, with the formal beginning of academic guidance. The focus is on the maturation of the subject matter, methodological consistency, and the advancement of the research.
4st Semester
In the fourth semester, for students following the regular track, the entire period is dedicated to the preparation and defense of the master's thesis, a stage that consolidates their graduate-level training and the ability to produce applied and analytically sound work.
International Agreements
IDP establishes partnerships with foreign universities and institutes to give students the opportunity to experience periods of international study and research. The partnerships established by IDP allow entry into more than 15 educational institutions in approximately 6 different countries. Check out some of the partner institutions and programs offered!
