The market increasingly demands qualified professionals with analytical and practical skills.

One of the main characteristics of MECO is its teaching methodology, which, in addition to a solid theoretical foundation, pays special attention to the analysis of case studies and practical applications of knowledge to the economy.

Furthermore, the course is concentrated on Fridays and Saturdays, in order to allow the participation of professionals who seek to reconcile their participation in the master's program with their professional practice.

ECONOMICS, INSTITUTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT

The objective of Area of ​​Interest 1 is to analyze and understand the main determinants of economic development, as well as the role of the State in this process.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Applied to Economics

Area of ​​interest 2 investigates how artificial intelligence and data science techniques can be applied to economic analysis. The focus is on the use of AI for modeling and forecasting economic phenomena, as well as in the evaluation of public policies, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications in different fields of economics.

FINANCE AND BANKING

Area of ​​interest 3 aims to provide a solid foundation in economic theory, public and private finance, and the financial system. To this end, the most recent theories and applications in the field of credit, monetary, and interest rate policies are presented, as well as the tools and instruments commonly used in financial management and project evaluation.

REGULATION AND COMPETITION

Area of ​​Interest 4 is part of the debate regarding the regulatory state and promoter of economic development within the context of a free market economy. This area aims to provide students with a set of theoretical and practical knowledge that allows them to understand the logic behind state intervention through regulation, as well as to reflect on its consequences for the behavior of economic agents.

The Master's Program in Economics is taught at the IDP's Asa Norte Campus, a building with modern and fully equipped classrooms.
