Bringing the Academy Closer to the Real World

At IDP, a fundamental part of our teaching philosophy is that learning occurs through discussions of real-world problems.

To that end, we hold various events and seminars at IDP, bringing together academics and managers to discuss the most diverse aspects of contemporary public management.

Below are some events organized by the Master's Program in Economics at IDP.

Seminar on Public Administration and Economics (SAPE)

Since 2011, the IDP Seminar on Public Administration and Economics (SAPE-IDP) has established itself as one of the leading channels for deepening debates on the country's public agenda. It is a discussion forum that brings together prominent figures from academia and Brazilian Public Administration and Economics to discuss the most emerging, current, and challenging issues in the management of the Brazilian state.

In addition, the Seminar has Working Groups that welcome papers from
postgraduate students, academics and professionals linked to Administration
Public and Economic Affairs.

Brazilian Meeting of Public Administration (EBAP)

Promoted by the Brazilian Society of Public Administration (SBAP) and established as the largest academic event on public administration in the country.

In the last three editions, the Professional Master's Program in Public Administration at IDP had the opportunity to participate as one of the co-organizers of the event.

Student Research Seminar

A space specifically designed for the presentation and discussion of projects.
Research conducted by graduate students. The event takes place every semester and brings together all students enrolled in the mandatory course "Scientific Methodology".

The event is open to the academic community and seeks to strengthen the important link between
Teaching and research are so relevant to the process of producing, accumulating, and disseminating academic and scientific knowledge.
