Faculty

The MPGPP faculty is one of the program's core assets. It brings together researchers with qualified academic backgrounds and professionals who have held—or currently hold—strategic positions in ministries, courts, oversight bodies, research centers, and leading institutions.

This changes the classroom experience. Students not only find good professors—they find interlocutors who know the literature and have an inside look at the state. This combination of academic production and institutional engagement is what gives the program depth, credibility, and the ability to train professionals prepared for high-responsibility environments.

AREAS OF INTEREST

The IDP curriculum is interdisciplinary. The program has 4 areas of interest, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to deepen their knowledge and skills in areas useful for their academic and professional careers.

The student has total freedom to move between the 4 areas, choosing the subjects that seem most interesting to you for your career and for your academic and personal life.

1
Area

PUBLIC POLICIES AND INSTITUTIONS

This area focuses on disciplines related to the core of the field of public policy: formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and institutional arrangements. It is the space for those who want to understand why policies work, why they fail, how actors coordinate in complex contexts, and what institutional capacities make public action more effective.
2
Area

PUBLIC MANAGEMENT AND STATE MODERNIZATION

This is historically the area of greatest demand in the program—and this is no coincidence. It is here that disciplines focused on institutional transformation, governance, planning, and the management capabilities necessary to address the contemporary challenges of the State are concentrated.
3
Area

LAW AND PUBLIC POLICIES

Public policies do not operate outside the law. They are conditioned by legal frameworks, contested in judicial arenas, subject to control mechanisms, and constantly strained by issues such as integrity, accountability, and governance.
4
Area

EDUCATION, CITIES AND SECURITY

Education, urban dynamics, and public safety are among the fields in which state action has the most visible and noticeable impact on daily life. These are also areas where the challenges of coordination, implementation, territorial inequality, and evaluation become most apparent.
