Overview
From an interdisciplinary Political Science perspective, the Professional Master's Program in Management and Public Policy at IDP (MPGPP) is organized to meet the needs of professionals who work directly or indirectly in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policies at different levels of government, civil society organizations, the private sector, and international organizations.
The MPGPP is a Master's program (stricto sensu), approved and recommended by CAPES, which prioritizes the application of theoretical knowledge to solving problems related to the formulation, monitoring, and evaluation of public policies and government management.

APPLIED METHODOLOGY
The great differentiator of the MPGPP is not in promising theory and practice as a cliché. It lies in organizing the training so that academic reflection has consequences for real problems. Throughout the course, the student works with cases, institutional experiences, implementation dilemmas, evidence, and concrete situations from the public sector—transforming content into analytical capacity.
More than just accumulating references, the student learns to interpret contexts, support positions methodically, and qualify decisions in environments marked by constraints, conflict, and complexity. This is what makes the training useful for those already working in the field who want to advance to the next level.
Monthly classes concentrated on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The courses are offered in a concentrated format at the following times:

From 13 to 16
Following the regular schedule, the student is expected to complete the required coursework in the first year of the Master's program, with an average of 13 two-day class sessions.

The MPGPP was designed as a formative trajectory that articulates academic training and professional experience. More than just organizing subjects, the course structures a path that allows students to develop analytical skills, deepen their understanding of public policies, and advance consistently in the construction of research.
The mandatory core provides the foundation for understanding the institutional workings of the State, using evidence, and analyzing public policies. From this foundation, students direct their training through the program's areas of interest—Public Policies and Institutions; Public Management and State Modernization; Law and Public Policies; and Education, Cities, and Security—aligning their academic interests with their professional practice.
Throughout the course, the development of the dissertation is monitored in an integrated manner, ensuring greater clarity of subject matter, methodological consistency, and quality of the final work. Check out your learning path at IDP:
1st Semester
In the first semester, students cover the core curriculum of the program, with courses focused on understanding the State, public policies, and the use of evidence in institutional analysis. It is at this stage that the analytical and methodological foundations that will guide the entire educational journey are established.
2st Semester
In the second semester, the student begins to shape their academic trajectory through the program's areas of interest, choosing courses aligned with their professional practice and research interests. Simultaneously, they advance in their methodological approach and in defining the topic of their dissertation.
3st Semester
In the third semester, the student deepens their training in their areas of interest and consolidates the development of their dissertation, with academic guidance. The focus is on analytical maturity, methodological consistency, and the effective advancement of the research.
4st Semester
In the fourth semester, the course is entirely dedicated to the preparation and defense of the master's thesis, consolidating the training process and the ability to produce a consistent final work, linked to the student's professional experience.
International Agreements
IDP establishes partnerships with foreign universities and institutes to give students the opportunity to experience periods of international study and research.
