The Danilo Doneda International Chair opens a call for researchers for the Summer School 2025.

A Danilo Doneda International Chair (CIDD) Registration is open for the 2025 edition of Summer School, which will take place from May 12 to 14, at the headquarters of the Brazilian Institute of Teaching, Development and Research (IDP), in Brasília. The initiative is carried out in partnership with NIC.Br (Information and Coordination Center of the .BR Domain) and will bring together national and international researchers, professors, and experts to discuss the contemporary challenges of the intersection between Law and the Internet.

A Summer school 2025 The event will feature an intense program that includes a keynote lecture, mini-courses, and the presentation of selected research papers. The event aims to strengthen academic training and foster the production of knowledge on [topic missing from original text]. Internet Governance e Digital Law, focusing on five major themes:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Sustainability
  • Promoting National Technology and Sovereignty
  • Economic Regulation of Digital Markets and Data Protection

The call is open until 10 researchers presentingThose eligible to register will have the opportunity to present their work on the last day of the event (May 14th) and participate in all scheduled activities. Master's students, doctoral students, and researchers who completed their courses between 2022 and 2024 are eligible to apply.

Registrations range from March 31th to April 20thInterested candidates must submit complete documentation, including proof of enrollment or a recent diploma, a research summary, a letter of motivation, and a curriculum vitae. The selection of submissions will consider criteria such as thematic relevance, stage of research development, academic impact, and candidate profile, in addition to promoting regional, racial, gender, and educational level diversity.

International participation and emerging issues

This year's edition will feature two renowned international experts:

  • Dr. Indra Spiecker, from Goethe University (Germany), specialist in information law and data protection.
  • Dr. Christiane Woopen, from the University of Bonn (Germany), a leading institution in bioethics, technology and human rights, with experience on international boards such as the European Commission and UNESCO.

The guests will contribute in-depth reflections on the impacts of new technologies on society, broadening the interdisciplinary dialogue on ethics, regulation, and innovation.

In addition to the Presenting Researcher category, the Summer School will also offer:

  • 50 places available for regular participants. (with access to the entire program)
  • 200 places available for exclusive participation in the Inaugural Lecture., on the 12th of May.

The Danilo Doneda Chair is recognized for stimulating the production of scientific excellence and the training of a new generation of specialists in the fields of Law and the Internet.
