In the book, the student discusses significant moments in his life and the importance of following his dreams.
Lucas explains that the inspiration for writing the book was to encourage other people to follow their hearts. “The idea of writing 'Metaphysics of Clichés' came to me when I realized I was fulfilling my dream of studying law and living here in Brasília. I realized it made a lot of sense to fight for what I believed in and to transmit that to people who haven't yet realized they are capable of achieving what they want to achieve, especially people who come from humble backgrounds and without many opportunities like me,” explains the student.
The student recounts that publishing the book was a long journey before receiving encouragement from IDP. “With the material in hand, I selected a list of the largest publishers in Brasília and Brazil, and sent it out, full of hope and good faith. I did this periodically for about 3 or 4 months. Then I decided to seek help from IDP, more specifically from Vitor Bezerril, my long-time tutor from the first semester. I told Vitor my whole story and my intention to help people who, like me, dreamed big. He embraced the project with me and connected me with people at IDP, such as Lahis, the undergraduate coordinator,” concludes the author.
Professor Olivia Rocha Freitas, from IDP and a PhD in Language Studies, was one of the people who encouraged Lucas to publish his book and speaks about the importance of the young man entering this market. "Maturity and the sum of life experiences make us better people, so the sooner Lucas launches himself into the world of literature, the sooner he can hone his talent and improve his techniques," concludes the Doctor.
