The competition took place in Vienna during the month of April. In the Vis Moot, arbitrators work with problems related to International Commercial Law.
For the student, the experience in the competition helped broaden her horizons. “Arbitration gave me not only knowledge but also the desire to contribute to the world and enable an amicable solution between the parties. In a competitive world, solutions where everyone wins are the best, and arbitration, as well as mediation and conciliation, are the methods that I see as crucial in the society we live in. More autonomy for the parties,” explained the student.
According to Lahis Rosa, academic coordinator at IDP, this type of experience helps in the academic and professional growth of the student. “Legal competitions are extremely relevant for the differentiated training of students; in this exercise, the student develops skills such as oratory, argumentation, organization, and also has the opportunity to expand their network of contacts. The experience is transformative for the students and for the institution,” concludes the professor.
