These programs aim to assist students with research projects, competitions, presentations at research conferences, and much more. Project submissions for PAPIN and PAGRUP are open until August 30th.
Gabriel Souto, a fourth-semester student at IDP, was one of those funded with PAPIN support for the article “Digital Platforms: a necessary right for users and competitors of digital platforms"which was presented at The London School of Economics (LSE) at a conference held by the University of Oxford. 'The PAPIN grant was essential for my presentation and the publication of my paper, as it allowed me to finance my travel and accommodation,' explains the student."
Camilo Jreige, a 5th-semester student, was funded by PAGRUP and has already participated in several national and international competitions, such as the Vis Moot held in Vienna, and debate competitions, where he competed twice in Rio de Janeiro and once in Belo Horizonte. “PAGRUP, besides being extremely important from an individual perspective, is also a very cool instrument for the community as a whole. By encouraging the development of research and extension projects, new ideas and proposals can emerge and have a beneficial impact on society as a whole, both within and outside the legal field,” explains the student.
According to Janete Ricken, Coordinator of the IDP Research Center and Master's Professor, PAPIN and PAGRUP are fundamental to the student's academic training. “The programs promote student participation in academic events with the presentation of articles and competitions.
