Between January 13th and 21st, the Professional Master's Program in Public Administration held its summer module: a period offering courses in a condensed format, allowing students to advance their studies and progress in their course load. For 2023, the major difference was the offering of a fully international module one!

IDP welcomed the visiting professors. Rolando Garrido Quiroz, Executive President of the Institute for Collaborative Innovation & Strategic Dialogue (INCIDES), and Angelo Lalli, from the Università degli studi di Roma “La Sapienza”, who taught the subjects “4D Negotiation” and “Sustainability, ESG, Ethics & Compliance”, respectively.

Professor Angelo highlighted the thematic importance of the subject taught and the knowledge that the students demonstrated on the main issues related to climate change, pollution, and public policies. Furthermore, he emphasized the relevance of closer ties between Brazilian and Italian institutions for debate and discussion on the topic. According to the professor, the exchange between Brazilian and Italian scholars is very interesting, especially regarding environmental law and sustainable development, considering the significant environmental challenges that both countries face. From his point of view, the way Brazilian environmental public policies are managed is crucial for the global environment, as the ecosystems existing in Brazil provide ecosystem services to the entire world.

Student Luiz Eduardo Sá Roriz, a participant in the course “Sustainability, ESG, Ethics & Compliance”, highlighted that the main objective of the discipline was fulfilled, which is to “"Cultural and scientific exchange, highlighting IDP as an educational institution suited and integrated with globalization, allowing students more knowledge and skill in their professional practice." According to his account, the topic is highly relevant, given the growing need for public sector professionals to undergo periodic retraining and immediate adaptation to new principles applied to governance. For him... “The new actions of integrity, governance, risk management, sustainability, compliance and, above all, ethics, have become irreversible on this path, with no possibility of turning back. Therefore, this path is the way to build a modern state compatible with the new world order in force.”

Additionally, the student Átila Feitosa Castelo Branco Dantas, who participated in the course "Negociación 4D"The student highlighted that the negotiation framework dynamics carried out in the classroom fostered out-of-the-box thinking, in addition to helping put into practice the knowledge acquired in the last evaluative exercise of the course. He also emphasized that the experience provided scientific support for connecting the academic world to his corporate environment, where he works with issues of crisis management, risk, compliance, governance, and ESG. This was Átila's second opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange promoted by IDP, and he reinforced that... "These initiatives contribute to research beyond the educational frameworks that are ordinarily available to us."

IDP promotes exchange programs aimed at generating new academic, cultural, and professional experiences for our students, faculty, alumni, and the affiliated community. These programs range from exchange programs with selection processes aimed at fostering these experiences in foreign educational institutions, to hosting faculty and researchers at IDP for the development of courses, research, and studies.
