IDP has established another partnership, this time with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The partnership, which began on October 30th, will promote study exchanges between the institutions, sending two IDP students to Natal in its first year and receiving two students from Rio Grande do Norte at the institution in the Central-West region. Candidate selection was finalized last Friday, December 7th.
The partnership was facilitated by IDP PhD candidate and professor, Izabela Patriota. The professor explains that this type of exchange fosters an enriching shift in perspective between students and institutions. “The exchange offers different viewpoints from faculty and students, since the student leaves their home institution and certain existing consensuses there, and begins to encounter other realities, such as the opinions of other professors; the student's perspective changes,” explains the professor.
According to the professor, the selected student must have a proactive personality. "We evaluate the profile of proactive students who are not accustomed to the status quo and are here to enrich and grow along with the institution," concludes the professor.
IDP seeks to encourage and support its undergraduate, postgraduate, and master's students to participate in exchange programs during their studies, having partnerships with more than 15 national and international institutions, such as Roma Tre University, the University of Granada, and George Mason University.
