The event, which will take place between January 15th and 18th, 2020, in the city of Lamego, Portugal, is aimed at teachers, researchers, students, professionals from various fields, governmental and non-governmental organizations, civil society, the global community, and all those interested in the topic of Human Rights, so urgent and necessary for everyone's future.
According to Professor Laís Locatelli, one of the event organizers, "the Global Congress on Human Rights is an opportunity to involve civil society, academics, and educational and governmental institutions with the same objective: to realize human rights in a multidisciplinary way."

IDP's purpose is to make knowledge an instrument for transforming society, institutions, and the rule of law; therefore, it encourages participation in serious research and outreach activities, such as those promoted by the II Global Congress on Human Rights.
