In the work, the author discusses legal argumentation as practiced in constitutional courts. The book launch will be at the Carpe Diem restaurant, in the 104 South block, from 19 pm to 22 pm.
The book also features interviews with prominent judges from both the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court and the Constitutional Court of Spain, such as Justices Gilmar Mendes, Marco Aurélio, Joaquim Barbosa, Manuel Aragón Reyes, and Pablo Pérez Tremps, giving accounts of the deliberation practices of these courts as experienced by their protagonists.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
André Rufino do Vale holds a PhD in Law from the University of Alicante (Spain) and the University of Brasília. He completed postdoctoral research at the Carlos III University of Madrid and the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies in Spain. He holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Brasília and a Master's degree in Legal Argumentation from the University of Alicante. He served as an Advisor to a Justice at the Supreme Federal Court (STF) between 2005 and 2013, where he also held the positions of Chief Advisor to the Presidency and Deputy Secretary-General. At the Attorney General's Office (AGU), he was Director of DECOR/CGU and Deputy General Counsel of the General Counsel's Office. Currently, he is part of the Consulting Department team at the Federal Attorney General's Office and is a Professor in undergraduate and graduate programs at the Brazilian Institute of Public Law (IDP).
