The Danilo Doneda Chair, an initiative of the Brazilian Institute for Teaching, Development and Research (IDP) in partnership with the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br), will hold an Open Seminar on the theme... "Digital Sovereignty and the New Paths of Digital Regulation".
The event will take place on the day March 24th, 2026the 18 am - 21 pm, at IDP Norte – Setor de Grandes Áreas Norte 609, Asa Norte, Brasília (DF), CEP 70830-401 – Theater.
The program will begin with a welcome session from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with the participation of the minister. Gilmar Mendes (STF), Laura Schertel (IDP) and the teacher Hartmut Glaser (CGI.br).
Next, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the following will take place: Opening panel “Digital Sovereignty and the new paths of digital regulation”, in moderation Laura Schertel (IDP)The debate will include the participation of Renata Mielli (CGI.br), Virgílio Almeida (UFMG), Uallace Moreira Lima (MDIC), Beatriz Vasconcellos (Chief of Staff) e Affonso Nina (Plan 2030).
The seminar aims to deepen the debate on the challenges related to exercising technological sovereignty in Brazil, especially given its dependence on solutions developed by other countries. The initiative seeks to bring together experts and the interested public to discuss ways to strengthen digital autonomy and the national technological infrastructure.
Furthermore, the meeting aims to contribute to building a safer digital environment, better prepared to face contemporary social, economic, and political challenges, stimulating reflection on digital regulation and governance in the country.
